My Approach:
Anxiety can feel like that well-meaning friend who cautions you about every possible danger, real or imagined.
It is that little (but mean) voice in your head whispering, “They don’t like you” or “You’re going to mess this up.”
Constantly hearing that voice in your head leaves you second-guessing every word you say and every move you make.
Anxiety has your brain hitting the panic button, sending your heart racing, palms sweating, and thoughts spinning.
Over time, anxiety takes a toll on your work life, your relationships, and your physical and emotional well-being.
Trust yourself to meet whatever life brings.
Hi, I'm Dr. Andrea Miller
I'm a clinical psychologist in practice for 23 years. I work with adults who are anxious, overwhelmed, and stuck in patterns they can't think their way out of.
Outside of the office, you'll find me exploring new hiking trails, catching sunrise photos, or digging into one of the many books on my nightstand.
More about me
There’s more to you than your anxiety.
We’ll get curious about what’s keeping anxiety in charge.
Anxiety is persuasive. It tells you that the worrying is what's keeping you safe, so the idea of doing less of it can feel reckless. We'll start by looking at what the anxiety is actually protecting you from, and whether that's still true.
From there, you'll get clearer on the thoughts and beliefs feeding the worry, and on the patterns that are limiting the life you want. We'll loosen the hold those beliefs have on you and make room for more balanced and flexible views.
We'll also work on building your self-compassion. Meeting yourself with kindness is one of the best-supported strategies there is for reducing anxiety.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Anxiety can show up in many ways. You may overthink situations and anticipate failure or negative outcomes. You may experience a general feeling of unease or question yourself endlessly. In social situations, you may worry about what other people are thinking about you, sometimes to the point that you avoid social activities altogether.
You don't need a diagnosis to start therapy. If worry is getting in the way of your work, your relationships, or your sleep, that's reason enough to reach out.

Yes. Anxiety can show up in your body as a rapid heartbeat, sweating, shortness of breath, or physical tension. It can also interfere with sleep, especially when your mind keeps replaying what you said or did that day or worrying about what might happen next.
It's worth mentioning any physical symptoms to your doctor as well, so you know what you're working with.

Therapy can help you understand the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns that keep anxiety in charge. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s underneath your worries and work toward more balanced and flexible ways of responding. You’ll also learn to meet yourself with greater compassion, so anxiety has less power over how you feel and how you live your life.
